About Smeraldi Cues:

I've played pool for as long as I can remember. First on a pool table in our basement and in pool halls in the Trenton NJ area. When we moved our family to Frehold NJ, there was a basement that could accomodate a full size pool table and still have room for an office and workshop.

The journey to cue maker started with the purchase of an old, used Sears lathe. After making furniture legs, lamps and bowls, I thought it would be neat to try and make a pool cue. I quickly found that trying to turn a long, thin piece of wood on this lathe was impossible.

This led to the puchase of a Cue Smith lathe and started the process of learning the ways of making a cue. After many failures and a few successes, I started to develop the techniques and processes to consistently produce a quality cue.

The journey now continues into retirement and a new home that has a room above the garage that houses the lathe and some choice pieces of wood.
